Need a perfect Before-After

Recommended Posts

I want to make a special image...one that requires the perfect before and after shots. This image is for the directory.

  • It would need to be a large image, preferably taken with a camera and not a phone.
  • The before and after pic's would need to be taken from almost the exact same spot.
  • The After needs to be a dry shot
  • The lighting needs to be almost the same (sun light and shadows.

I've never stuck around long enough for a totally dry shot and while I have intended to return and get after shots another day, I've never followed up. Thus, while I have hundreds of shots, I don't have the perfect one.

I need the perfect pair to make a perfect slider. I want to transition the dirty roof to clean without any image bounce. Many sites have a image transition of before and after but they transition the whole image, I am going to make a transparent layer of the cleaned shingles and transition that over the dirty shingles. The house and yard image will remain, just the shingles will be overlayed.

If you have the perfect images I need, I'll give you the slider export files and you can place them on your WP site as well.

Thanks in advance

I use a canon t3i rebel for my shots.  position a tripod before i start the job and leave it there until the last shot is taken.  The biggest problem i have is keeping the roof from looking washed out.  I have taken some nice shots though, they are in my gallery of my website.  I haven't had the chance to do this yet in summer.  But i noticed the best time for me to take before and after shots is on the morning of a yet to be nice day, with no clouds.  The sky also washes out very easily which can be fixed easily with some editing.

You have some great pic's. I used a cannon powershot for many of mine.

But, your images are like mine, very close to the same spot but not quite. Look at the church befoer/after and you'll see what I mean by "bounce".

image.jpegI know this is late on the post, but you and anyone else on the RCIA may use this.

This is an awesome pic. Not blown out, shows the true colors (brighter sky on the after is a plus), same location of roof, etc.

Me likey!
