 bruce ive looked at your truck in the pics. are you using the truck to charge the batteries for the pump? how is that set up?

Chris, do you know if the Powerwash.com guys ship to the UK?  Also do you know if there is anywhere on here where I can find an extensive list of all the products I'd required to setup a soft wash system/rig please?  Or for my first time would I be better buying  a ready made rig and have it shipped to the UK?

In my opinion, most of the ready made skids are WAY over priced and not a good investment. Roof cleaning is NOT rocket science, even though a lot of vendors try and make you think that so they can sell their products. Look through the threads on here and most everything you need can be purchased locally. Need help just call or PM me.

If it were me, I would just buy a ready made rig Jonathan. You will play hell finding all that stuff across the water, IMHO.

Chris, I'm going to try and build my own system as it's turning out to be too expensive (shipping/import tax) to buy one in the US and ship over due to the size and weight.

 

I'm going to start a shopping list then run it by everyone.  The is a hose retailer near me that sells all sorts of fitments so I'll go and see them tomorrow and see if they have what I need.  You never know I might be able to build kits up to sell over here in the UK.....

If you do use metal fittings, use only stainless steel

All the above advice is great and I would take it all in and go about it the best way it works for you.

However we are new to the "roof cleaning" and what we did was buy the pump in a box setup from Bob at pressuretek.com . It comes with a 5.6 gpm dc electric pump already wired up in a box with a second box for a battery, 200 ft of poly hose and most of all the hardware to plumb it. All you have to do is buy a stainless hose reel , a battery and a chemical tank.

Its certainly not the best thing on the market but its inexpensive and it gets you on the roofs and making money. There is always opportunity for upgrades .

But atleast that gets you started and allows you to see for yourself what further steps you want to take to upgrade. That's what we are doing anyway .

Sorry for late response. I have two 12v batteries running parallel and just charge them with a battery charger every 4 or 5 days. Running two parallel gives you a lot of battery life. Go to auto store and ask for parallel cables, run positive to positive and negative to negative.
