SKY VAC GUTTER CLEANING SYSTEM

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, does anyone have a gutter vacuum system after they are done cleaning roofs? Gutters are a pain to clean when they are clogged and full of debris if you contract a roof rinse + gutter clean!

If so, I need to purchase one!

I tried to call today, missed your call yesterday, I was out watching TV, did not hear the phoone!

There are quite a few commercial gutter cleaning devices, suggest you contact Gutterdogs in Maryland, one of our RCIA Certified guys, he knows a lot about them, we just use a blower, and blow all that biodegradable crap all over the place, LOL

Yeah i got your message chris... i will call you again tonight... and hopefully GutterDogs reply to this post!.

Yeah i currently use a blower myself. i own 2 backpack Stihl blowers  Model BR430 and BR600.    I just find some customers have reallllly nice landscapes i decide not to blow all those puff balls and grime all over there lovely flowers.  I even sometimes use the zero tip to really get them cleaned out.  Just figure there's another way other then RAG, SCOOP and PAIL method... which works great for a pro gutter cleaner but when they are sooo backed up with mud and sludge... it's the worst debris to clean out after.  The only real nice SKY VAC setups are in UK and AUS. Hell i will never get one from their shipped here they are like 1,630 euros before shipping! come with a camera and everything for 3 story gutters.

We don't like cleaning gutters, but will clean them if the customer wants to pay.  We do it the old fashioned way, with a blower, hose or just scoop it out.  We charge two different prices.  One for bagging the debris and one for just cleaning it out and letting it fall to the ground.  You'd be surprised.  A lot of people just take the latter price.  We like it better that way too.

We do exactly the same, when cleaning gutters.

Hey Al,  Yeah i use all three methods also... but i have never given different payment options to the customers before, that's interesting.  Usually if the gutters are bone dry ill blow them out before i even start washing the roof... Saves time and a huge mess later.  But if they are already wet or full or plugged up... I'll do the roof and rinse all the moss off because we have a ton of that here... then unplug each drain and use 5 gallon buckets and crawl along the edge of the roof and drag a rag through the gutter making piles and draining all the water... then another person goes around and picks up all the piles with a "gutter getter" (excellent tool)... this can be done if the gutters aren't totally flooded with water... but the draining systems around here are such garbage... i usually advise the customer to add a few in certain places or upgrade the stock 1 1/2 to a funnel drain system... THOSE ARE THE BEST JOBS! when they have funnel drains.  Excellent when they are on city storm drains...

Oh yes and I drill 1/4 inch holes in the bottom of my buckets so the water drains back out into the gutter that has already been cleaned! This saves all that water weight and helps for better condensing!
