THE WAIT IS OVER! INTRODUCING THE OUTLAW GAS SKID ROOF CLEANING/CHEMICAL PUMP SYSTEM!

We’ve been watching. We’ve been listening to our cleaning clients. And we’ve heard you loud and clear.

You are tired of the problems with electric pumps used in exterior cleaning. You want something that is more reliable, more flexible and more productive. You want a reasonably compact package that could go into a small trailer/pickup/truck. You want reliability, something that just keeps working and working. You want something that can be expanded on and future proofed so it can grow as your business grows. AND…you want something that isn’t $5000 or more but that has output and reach in case you need it.

Your Wish is Granted.

Introducing the Outlaw Roof Cleaning Series. We’ve taken all your requests, all our years of experience in selling, building and using pumps in our own roof cleaning business and put them in a blender. What came out combines a compact, chemical resistant Air Diaphragm pump system with a widely available, affordable compressor. The result is a compact, reliable pump system with exceptional output volume for the size. It easily fits in nearly any truck and unlike most pump systems, can be quickly removed for storage or portable applications. Because it is an Air Diaphragm pump system, it can spray with nearly ANY spray tip. Need an 010 nozzle to apply Citric to some cedar or some paver sealer...no problem.

The Pump.

We started with the most widely distributed, most widely sold air diaphragm pump in the world. This pump is revolutionary in that it is modular, and it is EXTREMELY efficient. How efficient? We can run FOUR of the pump modules off a 9.5 CFM compressor to deliver TWENTY GPM verses a standard 1/2” air diaphragm pump that will give you about 8 GPM! That is twice the efficiency of any other pump system out there and it is a game changer. What this means is that this saves you a very very significant amount of money. Why? CFM costs money. The more CFM, the more the cost rises on an exponential basis. These pumps are small and they are modular. The Basic pump system is comprised of twin 5 GPM pump modules mounted in a chassis complete with plumbing and air connectors. For more output, we add a second twin pump module.

The Compressor.

An Air Diaphragm Pump requires…TADA!…Air. Our system is designed around the ubiquitous Harbor Freight wheelbarrow compressor, one of the most standardized workhorses in the industry. Because Harbor Freight is everywhere or ships cheap, it means you likely have a Harbor Freight near you and can pick it up. This saves you hundreds of dollars in shipping costs.

Is it Reliable?

When we developed this package, we put in everything you need for a small, reliable, hassle free system and we didn’t skimp in the areas where it really counts because this is a machine designed to MAKE YOU MONEY.  The modular pump system means you automatically have redundancy. With the Dual Pump Version, it means you'd have to have FOUR pumps break on you in order to not finish a job. There is nothing worse than having your gear break.

What ISN’T included? The compressor, hose and a tank.  Why? Well on the compressor it makes absolutely NO sense for us to go down to Harbor Freight, buy the compressor, put it on the skid and then charge another several hundred dollars in freight to ship it to you across the country when you probably have a Harbor Freight in your town. If you don’t. then take advantage of their dirt cheap shipping rates. The skid comes ready to mount the compressor (get a friend or co-worker to help!) with simple hookups. '

Hose. Why? Because a TON of you will be upgrading from existing pump systems and you already own hose. Plus, we make pumps. We tried selling hose and it was just not profitable. So...if you are a new cleaner, we'll tell you what to get and where to get it at a good price. And a Tank.

What IS included?

The pump system, frame, air manifold and valving. plumbing, and the reel.

Lets Get Reel.

Here is the plain, ugly truth…the reels include with EVERY OTHER chem spray systems suck as roof cleaning reels. Why? Because they are PRESSURE WASHER REELS. They were never designed for corrosive house mix or roof cleaning mix strength chemicals. Period. The problem is, they use metal manifolds and these manifolds rust, rot and leak...even though they try to prolong the inevitable by using a stainless manifold… "Luke, you don't know the POWER of the extra free oxygen molecule…I MUST Corrode".  We've had plenty of experience with this. So…if we are going to sell you a reel, it is going to be a reel that is actually DESIGNED for this kind of work,  and it won’t be some cheesy Chinese knock off.  That is why our system includes a Gorilla Reel. The Gorilla Reel is a roof cleaning reel made BY roof cleaners FOR Roof Cleaners. And…it has NO FLUID MANIFOLD and NO METAL in the fluid path. This design completely eliminates it. No more rusted manifolds to leak. The system includes the reel and the mount for the reel but in order to save you some money, the reel will be drop shipped right to you which saves you money. Again…we think it is stupid to ship a chunk of metal across the country twice…either way you get your reel. We include the bolts and mounting point you need to put it on and it takes 7 minutes to put one together.  We KNOW you can handle it!

Three Versions…Base, Twin or Dual Spray.

The Outlaw-B base system includes a single pump and is rated at 10 GPM Open flow.  This is ideal for the average roof cleaning contractor. It is upgradeable to either the Twin or Dual version.

The Outlaw-T Dual Pump version quickly proving the most popular. At up to 20 GPM open flow, it has the distance and output to easily handle even the largest projects. But...since it has TWO twin pump modules, it gives you the flexibility to run only one for small projects and two when the big projects come along, saving you wear tear and fuel.

The Outlaw-D  Dual Spray system. This is designed for the contractor doing larger multi unit complexes as well as single residential. It includes two twin pump modules, TWO reels and mounts. We can NOT stress how much difference the Dual spray version makes to a contractor who does these kinds of projects. The difference in speed you can attain spraying two hoses simultaneously is exponential. You can literally cut your time on job in half by running two spray lines simultaneously. This would also be ideal for a large flatwork cleaning contractor who needs to cover a lot of area with oxalic or acids such as parking lot sprays.

Options:

Single Pump Module. An add on small single pump that can mount on the Single or Dual Pump system. With some 3/8" hose, it is ideal for doing deck sprays, fences, gutters, driveways, and for small touch ups on roofs. Comes with the pump, mounting plate and air connection. $295

Tsunami Water Separator. Optional Tsunami water separator. These pumps have proven to be pretty resistant to icing...but for those running a dual spray or twin pump system who are back east where it is really humid, we recommend a Tsunami. Add $275.

Easily Upgradeable.

We know you have invested your hard won duckets, so we designed and engineered the Base system to be easily upgraded to a twin pump system OR a dual spray system. Dual Spray can be upgraded to Twin Spray. And for those contractors who have EXTREMELY high output needs but limited real estate on their truck, we have the option for an Ultra High Output DUAL SPRAY System.

Questions and Answers.

What is needed to use it?

You’ll need to purchase the compressor, hose and a tank if you don't already have one.  We will assist you in getting exactly what you need.

Q. Why do you recommend  5/8” hose on the base unit? Isn't 1/2" hose fine?

A. Physics. The larger the hose is, the less resistance it has to flow. The less resistance it has and the lower the in line volume loss will be, the more output the pump will have AT THE SPRAY NOZZLE. This translates through to more distance. Sometimes that extra 3 or four feet makes ALL the difference in the world. . 5/8” is a good compromise between the smaller 1/2’ hose you see sold with EVERYBODY’s system…and the bigger 3/4” hose needed for the twin pump system due to the amount of output. The point is to maximize the amount of distance and the cheapest way to get more distance out of a pump system is to increase the spray hose size. Why doesn’t anybody else do this? We have no idea. CAN you use your existing 1/2" spray line with it? Absolutely...run what ya brung! But when you are ready for a new hose, upgrade to a 5/8" and you'll be glad you did.

Q. How Much does it pump? How Far does it spray?

A. With the compressor we’ve chosen and the pump we’ve chosen through the proper size  hose, the base system will pump a solid 8 GPM on the roof through an open 200' of  spray hose. That is actual, timed flow. No “7 GPM” fudged figures that is actually 4 GPM once you up on the actual roof. That is the actual measured output through the hose, through the reel, thru the spray valve…but no quick connect…into a bucket…UP ON A single story 4/12 pitch ROOF. Not a theoretical “maybe it can”. Obviously the height of the roof matters, but that is true no matter what pump system you use and if you are doing 3 story buildings, you need a Twin Pump system.

As for how far…there are a TON of variable factors that go into trying to figure out how far a pump will spray. Anybody who gives you a firm, etched in stone number is either lying, or hasn’t tested their pump in enough real world situations. There are sooo many variables to the equation. What you CAN look at is output and field experience.  We’ve achieved a solid 45 ft on actual roofs with the twin pump system with a SMALLER compressor, but we’re not going to tell you that our system is guaranteed to reach 50 foot since you might put 300 ft of 1/2” hose on and take it up on top of a 3 story roof on a 100 degree humid day. Remember, this pump system has substantially more output of your traditional electric pump and volume equals distance. A LOT of guys do just fine distance wise with 2.8 or 4 GPM (real world) electric pumps...so chances are you'll do better than fine with this one. YMMV.

Q. “But…But…the FatPentaNSQFlexBoy electric pump says it does 7 GPM!”

Well...yes it does, but in the way you will use it to spray in the field... No it doesn’t. The problem is nobody shows you the actual performance figures. We do:

 7e4112a6613bdd28da25256964f45bd8_zps0e5c

The most popular big electric pumps out there ARE all rated at 7 GPM…but there is  a big giant, albeit very well hidden caveat to that output figure and some serious FUDGE FACTOR happening in those advertised figures. YES, yes a FB 1/2/3 WILL deliver that amount of output….but ONLY if you run it at under 10 PSI without any hose and no vertical lift up onto a roof with a 13.2 Volt stable power supply. The problem is, NOBODY runs their pumps without hose, on the ground at 10 PSI, off a power supply. They run them at 60 PSI, through 200ft of 1/2” hose, hooked to a battery, with a flow restricted manifolded reel, and then they spray up on a roof.…at which point the pump is a 4 GPM pump with a FRESH topped off battery. A lot of guys crank them up even further to 80 or 100 PSI in order to overcome the lift head pressures, dropping the output down even further. When we say our system will do the output we quote, that means it was tested in the real world, not the fantasy pump spec world. IF we wanted to really push the envelope, we could claim ours is a 14 GPM pump system and the dual pump is 28 GPM. But…we like being honest with our customers.  Also, because it is an air diaphragm pump and air compressor power doesn’t run low on air at the end of the day, it will pump the same amount at the end of the day vs the beginning of the day.

Q. How often does the pump need to be changed? Can it be serviced?

Again, there are a lot of variables here. The pump material we’ve chosen is chemical resistant Polypropylene which is more resistant that the FRP pump material in the Fatboy series. You WILL need to service the air end and change the diaphragms every so often, but those are easy, inexpensive and we suggest you do it yourself so you know how to service your own equipment. This is invaluable in case you do something like suck a screw through the intake and burst a diaphragm with the biggest project of the entire year starting tomorrow. Yeah, we do recommend you buy some spares, they are cheap.

Q. Do you have a complete skid package available with a tank?

Yes! It is going to cost a lot more due to shipping, but we can supply with a mounted tank system. But honestly, getting a tank isn't rocket science. IF you need the tank MOUNTED to the skid, we CAN put extensions on. Just inform us when you order.

Q. Can this be used for Soft Washing?

Heck yeah! It makes a GREAT soft washing system! Also, works great to put chemicals on concrete, wood and flatwork. For you power wash contractors who do large volume concrete work and are sick of 12 volt pumps failing with SH, this is the ticket!

Q. Can I buy and mount an additional  pump as a  transfer pump to Transfer SH into my mix tank?

Absolutely!  We will insist you rinse the pump afterwards which you should do no matter what.

Q. What else can it be used for?

Deck Sprayer. Fence Sprayer. Concrete Etcher/stain/sealer. Fungicide sprayer for mold remediation…though we recommend our compact electric Outlaw Jr. version for that!

Q. Is there a discount for buying multiples?

A. The reality is, this isn’t a a high margin system. We are not going to get rich selling them. But it *is* fun to build. If you want 5 or more, we can talk.

Q. HOW CAN I BUY ONE?

We are taking orders now. We expect shipping to be Late January.  360-410-9902 or email Kevin at Deadmoss.com for more information.

This is NOT the Outlaw Skid system. It is actually the new Outlaw JR system! It is a mini pump system designed for deck spraying, fencing, concrete and rust remover...and yes it WILL do roofs as well since it has a 7 GPM Air Diaphragm pump. The compressor is electric and will run off of any 15 amp domestic circuit. Introductory price is $449. I'm selling the heck out of them!
