Allstar Exterior Cleaning Report post Posted August 21, 2015 Im wondering what all surfaces is safe to use SH on and what % do you recommend on them. As for wood decking, vinyl siding, painted surfaces, brick, and maybe hardy plank siding? and any other surfaces that you would feel safe or that you have used it on. 1 Apple Roof Cleaning (813) 655-8777 reacted to this
Apple Roof Cleaning (813) 655-8777 Report post Posted August 21, 2015 Personally, I have used SH Mixtures on all the surfaces mentioned above. I never had any problems with any of the surfaces you mentioned, as long as I did not exceed a 25% SH to Water mixture. 3 RTCMIKE, Allstar Exterior Cleaning and Ultimate Roof Cleaning & Pressure Washing reacted to this

Apple Roof Cleaning (813) 655-8777 Report post Posted February 8, 2016 If the SH solution starts to clean right away, it is stronger then it needs to be. We like to use a solution that takes 20 to 30 seconds to start cleaning. This is easier on plants, and painted surfaces. 1 Sussex County Roof Cleaning reacted to this
Shingle Brite Report post Posted February 11, 2016 On a rare occasion, a roof mix or even a house mix will leave noticeable spots where it touched a painted surface especially a darker one like chocolate brown. I believe this happens because the paint may be oxidized and old and because the surface was not pre-wetted. I have no reservation treating almost anything with my mix but I do take precaution with older paint, especially on garage doors. On the other hand, on occasion it may appear that you streaked paint on wooden siding when in fact, your mix simply caused the hidden algae to stand out and the parts you hit with more mix actually cleaned where it touched making it look streaked. This can be very alarming the first time you see it but spray the rest of the siding and it will look great!Below is an extreme example, but neither the homeowner or myself realized how dirty the siding was until I accidentally hit it while spraying the gutters. I was just doing a gutter and soffit cleaning for them, but I wound up cleaning all the siding on 3 sides for no charge because I couldn't just leave it. When I showed the HO the difference they were so thrilled they tipped me $75 despite my objections and said they had been planning on repainting soon but it looked so good now they don't need to! Jeff Report post Posted February 11, 2016 It's the concentration that matters,...considering it's in city water,..and some people drink it,,You can see my point .Bleach is also used in varying strengths to wipe down counter tops,..and can be used on most of today's awning materials,..but again,..watch the strength,..So to ask,.."What's it safe for" leaves alot of room for varying answers. Although not ideal for raw wood,..some guys will use it,.and get great results. I prefer Sodium Percarbonate on raw wood,.like decks or fences. Roofwash Exteriors Report post Posted March 6, 2016 (edited) Will SH damage new copper? on homes, or will it turn it green at a certain strength?, just curious. We dont get many homes up here in Michigan with copper, but I think I might be bidding one soon. Thanks in advance Team. Use the least amount of Sh that you need to get the job done. After a while experience with stucco you will have a good idea of how much to use.The reason for the apparently contradicting advice is this. In different parts of North America, the SH is at different strength, because much of it is old, and has been sitting awhile. Here in Florida, because there are so many sw`imming pools, the SH is very strong and fresh, and 50/50 will peel paint off the walls
Roofwash Exteriors Report post Posted March 16, 2016 Chris can you chime in on how you would clean anything copper on a house with SH, and how strong your solution should be to do so. Thanks
