Through the years, I worked my way up the 12 volt pump line. I tried the Fat Boy, but they kept burning up switches and that bother outweighed the extra 4-6' spray distance the FB gave me. Marcus Raif and Bruce Sullivan spent some time, getting it through my thick skull, how to use a solenoid instead of the flimsy switches that come on the pumps and I'm hoping not to have that problem now! Also, now that I'm older, I do myself and my customer a favor and clean 75% or more of the roofs without walking on them. Now, that extra footage matters! I just put one of my 2 FatBoy pumps in my trailer and I'm sold! I didn't step on the roof before last and only on 10% of the last, as a large pool cage got in my way. I know, air systems are even better! My son works for me and also has his own business uses air, so I hear about it often. I'm satisfied with my 12 volt simplicity. With my Fatboy I could have reached all of the roof in my video below. I used a 5850 on that roof though. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0FAVcq2dQVU&t=10s&index=1&list=PLhfu_b26aKUN1fK4Zi7e7b2vxwYVwTQkX

CHARLOTTE COUNTY PRESSURE WASH DOES NOT PRESSURE WASH ROOFS! Our father and son business has cleaned roofs with no pressure for most of 20 years. Watch us on Youtube: Pool Enclosure Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=NNfDLo_kRUQ Shingle Roof Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=rQjszicmWWA Driveway Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=QOpB1h8Mst8 Cleaning Vinyl Fence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg83uQoZZ9c&t=46s Tile Roof Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=VKgMwodDBkA Call for a free, firm, price quote, not a changeable "estimate" I look at almost all roofs in person to quote an accurate price. Over the phone "guesstimates" could change, when the contractor actually sees what he has to do. Not Good! 941-474-8883 Landline In Englewood,Florida Prior to that, we pressure washed all roofs and while they "looked" clean, watching the granules blow off of shingled roofs and the occasional tab flip up, took away the good feeling of restoring a roofs appearance. I said "Looked" because pressure washing does not kill the living algae Gloeocapsa magma. "Gloeocapsa magma is a species of cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria are an ancient line of photosynthesizing bacteria.. Ancient cyanobacteria were ancestral to the chloroplasts of all plants on earth." It can't be seen, because there is less of an infestation after power washing and blowing it all up under your roofing and onto everything within 20' of your roof edge. But it continues to grow on your roof and now under it and on your house walls, driveway, walk and anything the blown off bacteria hit. It will be seen as black again, in 1 to 1 1/2 years. This algae [ bacteria ] can live through our SW Florida scalding temperatures! Roofs reach here for months! It can also live through nights in the teens in the winter. Some products are sold, that say they "WILL NOT HARM PLANTS" Well, if they won't harm your delicate hibiscus or bouganvilla leaves etc, how on Earth are they going to kill that super tough plant [ This bacteria is in the plant family ] growing on your roof? THEY WON'T, so even if these new chemicals could make your roof "appear" clean, it's still coated in living, growing Gloeocapsa magma ! [they don't look clean, I have tested 3 on my back roof, that is cut into the woods. They make it an uneven, light tan, after about 3-5 months, then after a year or so, it's back to black again! ] HOW ABOUT TILE ROOFS? On tile, because the roof has to be walked on everywhere, the amount of broken / cracked tiles will be high and only if the worker is very honest, will you ever know it. Many just kick them back together and they are hard to see from the ground. Pressure also often blows pieces of your soft ridge cap cement off into space! This soft cement is always cracked up and chunks can easily be blown away. Then there is the glazing that comes on most tiles, after each power wash job, you will have less and less glazing left and your roof will be a dull, faded example of what it was prior to being beat up a couple of times with a pressure cleaning machine! Even worse, is a "surface cleaner" it has SET jets that barely reach the valley portions of barrel tile, but blast the top rounded portions unbelievably hard! You can see me using a yellow surface cleaner [1st photo and others ] One of the pictures, shows a silver colored surface cleaner destroying a shingled roof. { It's not me! } See in attached photos. These are actually Flat Surface Cleaners, originally made specifically for flat cement-driveways, walks and parking lots only! This is a common sales gimmick. Usually pressure washing companies-not roof cleaning companies-will pressure wash your roof and then sell you an after coating, which they want to reapply every 2 years. Names like Roof-A-This cide etc. Not wanting to name any specific one. Read the ARMA warning below. http://www.asphaltroofing.org/coating-asphalt-shingles-after-installation
