Ah yes , the price wars. As a contractor when I set upon a price I base it on many factors. As a shopper you may feel you want the best deal. BUT is the lowest price the best deal. Come on, you know the answer to that. It is no. I did a roof cleaning job the other day for a set price, the owner had said," I paid the same thing last year but the guy also did my house and driveway" ( the guy who looked like a pro, Pressure washed the roof after being told not to, He peeled off some paint from the door step, He broke an outside lamp and he never finished the house. What do you think this poor service was from? His price was too low, His experience was either non existent or his morals were. I redid the job for a higher price and well it came out great. I took the time to do it right, I charged accordingly. I am running a business, this means I have insurance, I pay my taxes, JUST like you!!! Why would you hire someone that doesnt. I'm just going to copy/paste what I posted on facebook for the benefit of our roof cleaners here. Dirt daubers. I've tried it all. I have/had my own method using a weak caustic mix, which worked great for daubers, but is dangerous and difficult to use. Bring in the dragon juice. Oh boy. Andy Vickers this stuff is amazing for daubers. Listen to me folks. We have some of the worst daubers you can imagine. A lot of the stuff people say to use, our daubers will laugh at, and you'll be up close with a toothbrush hand scrubbing like a clown. Not any more. Dragon Juice seriously erases these things like nobody's business. At 20-1 ratio they melt like a hot knife through butter. A little agitation with a brush, and they are toast. This is the holy grail of dauber removal. No damage to anything surrounding, no streaking paint from acids, no melting paint off aluminum with caustic. None of that. Check out the video.- 2 replies

Brian C. Jackson cleaned this roof in Windham, New Hampshire 03087 because it was infested with and algae (black stains) called Gloeocapsa Magma. This customer contacted us because of all the ugly black stains on there roof that were getting worse year after year. After we informed them of what this algae does to the shingles and how it shortens the life of the roofing shingles, they wanted a price and the avalibilty of our service. Once the estimate was emailed the customer agreed to have there roof cleaned and with in a few days the roof cleaning was completed. The roof cleaning process uses a safe non-pressure application which means we do not use a pressure washer at all, because a pressure washer will cause damage to the roof and in some cases will may effect the warranty of the roof. Brian C. Jackson is a roof cleaning specialist and we use a safe non-pressure roof cleaning method. There is no need to use a pressure washer to clean a roof and that is not the recommended way to clean a roof according to the ARMA(Ashphalt Roofing Manufactures Association). I have attached a before and after picture of the roof we cleaned in Pelham ,New Hampshire 03076. This customer called us because of the black staining they had on ther roof and from year to year it has gotten worse and they wanted it cleaned. After discusing the reason why this black stain ( gloeocapsa magma ) was on there roof and informed them this algae was feeding on there roof and would shorten the life span of the roofing shingles, they agreed to have there roof cleaned. I assured them we would be able to clean there roof and not cause any additional damage and I also made the estimating process very easy for them. Katy Memorial Roof Cleaning & Power Washing is in the beginning stages of constructing a new top of the line Roof Cleaning & Power Washing trailer For cleaning the Houston Texas and surrounding areas including but not limited to Katy Texas, Richmond Tx, Spring Texas, & Sugar Land Tx towns. We started with a 14' steel floored trailer that we had powder coated on all sides. Next we installed a Weatherguard tool box. Then we had a hose reel frame constructed and later powder coated. After that the hose reel frame was bolted to the trailer and populated with three hose reels. Also added to the trailer but not mounted yet are a 200 gal water tank & a 125 gallon roof cleaning solution tank painted silver. There is also a 24 Hp electric start Honda 3500 psi 8.5 gpm pressure washer and a 13 Hp electric start Honda 1500 psi 10.2 gpm pressure washer sitting on the trailer waiting mounted. Behind the tool box is a 13 hp electric start Honda powering an Ingersoll Air Compressor on a 30 gallon steel tank.
