Are there dirty roofs with ugly black stains in Salem, New Hampshire?? Chances are you or the house next to you has signs of Algae,Moss or lichen on the roof. This is caused by an algae called (GLOEOCAPSA MAGMA) and it is feeding on your roof shingle and shortening the life of your roof. Brian C. Jackson is a local Roof cleaning & Exterior cleaning specialist and can and will safely clean roofs infested with this algae. A proper roof cleaning according to the (ARMA) Asphalt Roofing Manufactures Association is to not use a pressure washer at all because of possible damage to the?roofing shingle and loss of warranty. There is also no need to replace a roof that is infested with algae, moss,or lichen unless the roof is at the end of its life. A roof cleaning is a small cost compared to a roof replacement and getting the roof cleaned is easy to get done. Our estimate is easy to get and we are low pressure sales. I have attached a before and after picture of a roof cleaning in Salem New Hampshire, 03079 for your viewing. Services we offer: * Softwash House Washing * Pressure washing/ Powerwashing * Rust removal * Window Cleaning * Solar Panel Cleaning For free estimate for roof cleaning or any of the other exterior cleaning services we provide please contact Brian C. Brian C. Jackson is a roof cleaning specialist and we use a safe non-pressure roof cleaning method. There is no need to use a pressure washer to clean a roof and that is not the recommended way to clean a roof according to the ARMA(Ashphalt Roofing Manufactures Association). I have attached a before and after picture of the roof we cleaned in Pelham ,New Hampshire 03076. This customer called us because of the black staining they had on ther roof and from year to year it has gotten worse and they wanted it cleaned. After discusing the reason why this black stain ( gloeocapsa magma ) was on there roof and informed them this algae was feeding on there roof and would shorten the life span of the roofing shingles, they agreed to have there roof cleaned. I assured them we would be able to clean there roof and not cause any additional damage and I also made the estimating process very easy for them. I also get the estimate emailed right out to them and it is a no pressure estimate with no used car salesmanship. Brian C. Jackson is a non-pressure roof cleaning specialist but we offer other services to clean the exterior of your home. Black Stains /Ugly Shingles Like most of the State of New Hampshire, Homeowners are wondering what the Blackstains that are all over ther roofs and on there neighbors roof. Well the black stain is an algea and it is called Gloeocapsa Magma and it feeds on the roof shingle and prematurly shortening the life expectancy of the roof. It is an airbourne algae and spreads from roof to roof and that is why it is on your roof or your neighbors roof. There is good news and bad news with this algea, and the bad news if left alone and not cleaned it will definatly shorten the life of your roof, the good news is that is can be clean. also feel free to visit to visit my web site for more info @ www.jacksoncontracting.net Safe Non-Pressure Roof Cleaning Process First thing to know is there is no need to pressure wash the roof, this will only damage the roof and the algea will not be removed . We apply a solution to treat the algea, moss and lichen and this solution is delivered at a non-pressure method. There is a big difference between a non-pressure application and low-pressure application and this is were homeowners can get lost. A non-pressure application is excatly that non-pressure (under 100psi) and that is the maxiumum allowed, anything over that will damage the roof. A low-pressure application is just that an application with pressure and how much is that pressure 400psi?,800psi?2000psi, and seeing how pressure washing equipment is capable of 3000-4000 psi , which is way beyound what is allowed. With our process there is no pressure and more importantly no rinsing, and this is because there is no need to rinse because the solution will not hurt the roof shingles. Our roof cleaning process yields same day results on algea, moss or lichen will fall of soon after that. For a Free Roof Cleaning Estimate Contact Brian C. Jackson (603)401-8408 or email Briancjacksonllc@gmail.com For more information or to view our website Click Here

I went to a recent home show to scope out some competition and to get ideas for my own both next year. I have gone to 4 different home shows and garden shows. These shows are loaded with PW company's and hardly any roof cleaner. I sat back and watches and listened as people asked question after question. And just as i thought i had heard all the used car salesman lines, I heard this one. This company uses a special formulated rising mixture and it is PH boosted. I also heard the company bad mouth roof cleaners that don't rinse roofs and let mother nature rinse it. Wow...

Whats eating the roofs in New Hampshire
Brian C. Jackson posted a blog entry in Brian C. Jackson Blog
Home Articles What’s Eating My New Hampshire Roof? Category: Roof Cleaning There is no easier way to improve and maintain the attractiveness of your New Hampshire property than to keep the roof and exterior properly cleaned. However, many homeowners either ignore this type of roofing maintenance, or don’t understand how damaging those blank stains can be to your roofing system. You may even find yourself asking, just what are those black stains on my roof, anyway? What’s Eating My New Hampshire Roof? The blackened areas and streaks that you see on your New Hampshire roof making it look “dirty†are actually the result of algae and bacteria that are feeding, growing, and spreading on your roof. In addition to making roofs look unsightly, this type of algae can damage your New Hampshire roof and reduce its warranted lifetime. This premature degradation of your roof can end up costing thousands of dollars over time, especially if you have to get a roof replacement. Another factor to consider is your health. The algae and bacteria on your roof can become airborne and spread – not just to other roofs but also into the air that we breathe. Airborne contaminants have the potential to cause discomfort and health issues for people with asthma and allergies. So aside from protecting your roof and improving your curb appeal, roof cleaning in New Hampshire can also improve the quality of your indoor air! Frequently Asked Questions – Roof Cleaning & Algae Question: What are those black streaks on my New Hampshire roof? Answer: The black streaks are a type of algae called ‘Gloeocapsa Magma’ or simply “Black Algaeâ€. Question: Is this type of algae harmful to my roof? Answer: Yes it is. As this mold grows it feeds on the limestone filler on the outer base of the shingle causing the shingle granules to dislodge reducing the life expectancy of the roof. Question: I have a 30 year architectural shingles on my home. Without treatment for roof fungus how long can I expect my roof last? Answer: That’s a tough question to answer due to many factors but in general a 30 year roof life expectancy can be shortened by up to 50% if not addressed properly. It is highly recommended that you contact a New Hampshire general contractor that offers roof cleaning services if algae, moss, or lichen is visible on your roof. Question: I have a wood roof that is covered in moss. Can I have this moss safely removed without damaging the roof? Answer: Yes you can, but be careful. If you are thinking about removing the moss yourself, think again. Wood shake roofs in New Hampshire are very expensive to replace, and if you don’t know what you are doing it could end up costing you plenty. The recommended method would be to hire a New Hampshire roof cleaning professional, but again, be careful. Make sure the New Hampshire contractor has proper credentials such as: experience working on wood roofs, license, insurance, local references, and before and after photos of completed jobs. Question: How much does it cost to have my roof cleaned? Answer: There are many factors that will determine the cost of having your roof cleaned. Rule of thumb is having your roof cleaned by a reputable roof cleaning contractor should be roughly 12% of the cost to replace a roof. Example: New roof cost = $ 7,500.00/ Roof cleaning = $ 900.00. Buyer beware! If you receive an estimate that sounds too good to be true, you are more than likely dealing with an inexperienced roof cleaner. Question: How long will my roof stay clean? Answer: The answer to this question varies widely dependent on climate, proximity to water, tree coverage, and how thorough the cleaning was. Some roof cleaning professionals in New Hampshire may offer annual maintenance programs or products that will inhibit future growth.
