  1. I bid all my roofs in person. If a roof is bad enough, I use Hang Tight - or similar- If it's really bad, On an average roof, I use only Gain 44 ounces to 100 gal tank. WHY? Additives to increase dwell time etc, also increase plant "Cling" So, half my roofs are done with about a 45% - 50% mix. My local chlorine is only 10.5 %, so I end up with about a 4.5 to 5% mix and with a ground man watering, I haven't killed a plant in over 3 years now. :-)
  2. I accidentally let my website expire through GoDaddy. I had a girl build another one, but it doesn't seem as good as my old one. I had about 15 years on the old 1 and it ranked 1st page Google. Let me know what you think in posts here. Thanks!! This is the new site: https://bergmanpressurewashing.com/
  3. Would you please explain "venting the tanks below the trailers helps" Why would running an air vent below the trailer, be better than having the air vent up as high as possible, as I do? ( Because my aluminum enclosed trailer got wrecked, I'm temporarily using an open steel trailer, until I find just the right enclosed replacement )
  4. Not really. It had very little rust-especially for a 2003 trailer! The vehicle that smashed into it did quite a number on it though! The only serious rust, was on the very bottoms of the doors. Otherwise, it was all solid and I never let rust stay. I keep it wire brushed off on a weekly inspection basis and use rust converter, oil primer and oil paint, as rust appears. It is a constant fight of course, because as you said, just the SH fumes will start rust going, if it can reach bare metal!
  5. Never had a flatbed, but considered it. I like an aluminum enclosed trailer to protect all my equipment and tanks [ I carry 2 pressure washing machines too ] from weather and thieves! Had 2 pressure washers stolen from open steel trailers-2 years in a row, they took 1 a year about 3 weeks before Xmas. I guess I paid for their kids presents? I have had a nice trailer now for about 6 or 7 years. It is 6' 4" from floor to support rails on ceiling [ was taller before I built up the floor. ] In 2014 someone ran a red light and ruined my truck and damaged the trailer. The truck was destroyed, but the trailer I had fixed for $1300.00 Because of SH leaking in previous enclosed trailer [ and of course all open steel ones ] it always rusted out the under framework, springs etc. So, when I got this one I put in a double floor, with no nails! I coated the original floor with plastic roof cement and glued and screwed a 1X4 trim around the sides to hold it down-plus put pieces of plywood covering it, with a bunch of 5 gal buckets spread around to get it to glue down tight [ each 5 was full, so each weighed about 40 lbs each. I put a vinyl floor on top-also with plastic roof cement and did the same with the plywood pieces and buckets. Then I caulked it all in yearly with good silicone and never had a leak! When I had the wreck, I put in a 3rd 3/8" floor, in the same manner and new 1X4's all was great until about 10 days ago, when a woman made a U turn and really smashed it up. Now, I am working out of a backup steel trailer, until I can find another enclosed aluminum trailer. Then, I get to do all the work over again! These pictures don't begin to show the real damage-frame damage and interior wall damage and the wheel is bent. The 3rd pictures is the trailer with the truck that got totaled in 2014. Well, gotta go bid a couple of jobs. Catch ya later!
  6. I haven't checked my signature in a very long time. I just clicked on my website and it goes to another business. Must have been hacked?? I tried to fix it, but nothing changed. Can someone fix it for me? It should go to http://www.bergmanpressurewashing.com/ - Right now it goes to- "HOW MUCH DO ROOFERS IN COVENTRY COST"
  7. Hey Chris, I have a Wordpress site and everything is free. What did you spend the $50 on?
  8. My 2 cents: Leaks are obvious-fix them. Cycling is most likely gonna be, adjusting the accumulator- it's not that cut and dry, takes some testing. Then, you said "I even tried a small 2510 nozzle and it still cuts right on." it's exactly the opposite. If you use a 2540 or 50 that will most likely end the trouble. Some would say you shouldn't use 1/2" spray hose. I have used it for many, many years and have no problems. I do use a 1" suction hose though. I am 100% "not interested" in going to air pumps. I KNOW the function better for cleaning roofs, but I have watched my son, use his carefully and there is a lot of breakdowns [ gas engines etc ] and the normal pump problems don't just go away. I am a 12 volt pump guy and won't be changing before I croak - and that won't be long! { USE RESPIRATORS! } I can hardly breathe and never feel I have enough oxygen. I was stubborn and complained about the red burn around the mask seal, where SH accumulated. Skin cancer is better than lung cancer or any disabled breathing, which Chris and I both have after many years of spraying this stuff!
  9. I wanted to try a wetting agent [ keep my SH / Water wet longer ] without adding soaps etc. Just a pure wetting agent. Does one exist?
  10. NICE WORK CHRIS! I like that you have your nice looking truck, with your business name showing in your pictures! I often forget how important that is. After seeing your jobs here, I looked through my pictures and only 1 out of 5 show my business name! Gotta fix that! I get reminded when I see my pictures used online, with someone else saying they did the job. If your business name is in a photo, it can't very well be stolen! Good reminder for me!
  11. This post I am replying to, I made in 2013. It's 2017 and nothing has changed, except that with newer equipment, I now clean roofs without walking on them-or minimally-compared to a pressure washed roof, which has to be walked on, basically every square foot! Here's a couple videos of me cleaning roofs from a step ladder.
  12. I hope it works well for you Chris! Unfortunately I just did a job this month and the home had te same one attacked already, so I tried to use it. Even though it looked new, it leaked at the hose to male connector-not the O-ring. It didn't look like you could do a hose fitting on the material-but maybe? Hopefully, that was just a bad one. It looks like the same material as the "Expandable Hose on TV"
  13. Interesting! I used to have hose ends put on and I liked them! Problem is, the long drive and last time they said "We don't have the parts in" Ahhhhh! Should have called 1st. Now, partly because I only work 2 days a week, due to multiple health issues, my income is 1/2 to 1/3rd, of when I worked full time, so I use hose clamps! It's no fun watching my Home Equity Loan go from $26,000 to $71,000 in the last 4 years. But, whatcha gonna do if ya just can't handle it anymore? I was too dumb back in the $$$ days, to set up anything for retirement, I traveled the country 1 or 2 times a year and spent it all-until 4 years ago and now I stay home! So, after all the rambling, I guess I won't be buying this machine or the 100 clamps, unless I find them for sale used somehow. Ya, good luck on that Chuck! LOL
  14. CHARLOTTE COUNTY PRESSURE WASH DOES NOT PRESSURE WASH ROOFS! Our father and son business has cleaned roofs with no pressure for most of 20 years. Watch us on Youtube: Pool Enclosure Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?o=U&video_id=NNfDLo_kRUQ Shingle Roof Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=rQjszicmWWA Driveway Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=QOpB1h8Mst8 Cleaning Vinyl Fence: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xg83uQoZZ9c&t=46s Tile Roof Cleaning: https://www.youtube.com/edit?video_id=VKgMwodDBkA Call for a free, firm, price quote, not a changeable "estimate" I look at almost all roofs in person to quote an accurate price. Over the phone "guesstimates" could change, when the contractor actually sees what he has to do. Not Good! 941-474-8883 Landline In Englewood,Florida Prior to that, we pressure washed all roofs and while they "looked" clean, watching the granules blow off of shingled roofs and the occasional tab flip up, took away the good feeling of restoring a roofs appearance. I said "Looked" because pressure washing does not kill the living algae Gloeocapsa magma. "Gloeocapsa magma is a species of cyanobacteria. Cyanobacteria are an ancient line of photosynthesizing bacteria.. Ancient cyanobacteria were ancestral to the chloroplasts of all plants on earth." It can't be seen, because there is less of an infestation after power washing and blowing it all up under your roofing and onto everything within 20' of your roof edge. But it continues to grow on your roof and now under it and on your house walls, driveway, walk and anything the blown off bacteria hit. It will be seen as black again, in 1 to 1 1/2 years. This algae [ bacteria ] can live through our SW Florida scalding temperatures! Roofs reach here for months! It can also live through nights in the teens in the winter. Some products are sold, that say they "WILL NOT HARM PLANTS" Well, if they won't harm your delicate hibiscus or bouganvilla leaves etc, how on Earth are they going to kill that super tough plant [ This bacteria is in the plant family ] growing on your roof? THEY WON'T, so even if these new chemicals could make your roof "appear" clean, it's still coated in living, growing Gloeocapsa magma ! [they don't look clean, I have tested 3 on my back roof, that is cut into the woods. They make it an uneven, light tan, after about 3-5 months, then after a year or so, it's back to black again! ] HOW ABOUT TILE ROOFS? On tile, because the roof has to be walked on everywhere, the amount of broken / cracked tiles will be high and only if the worker is very honest, will you ever know it. Many just kick them back together and they are hard to see from the ground. Pressure also often blows pieces of your soft ridge cap cement off into space! This soft cement is always cracked up and chunks can easily be blown away. Then there is the glazing that comes on most tiles, after each power wash job, you will have less and less glazing left and your roof will be a dull, faded example of what it was prior to being beat up a couple of times with a pressure cleaning machine! Even worse, is a "surface cleaner" it has SET jets that barely reach the valley portions of barrel tile, but blast the top rounded portions unbelievably hard! You can see me using a yellow surface cleaner [1st photo and others ] One of the pictures, shows a silver colored surface cleaner destroying a shingled roof. { It's not me! } See in attached photos. These are actually Flat Surface Cleaners, originally made specifically for flat cement-driveways, walks and parking lots only! This is a common sales gimmick. Usually pressure washing companies-not roof cleaning companies-will pressure wash your roof and then sell you an after coating, which they want to reapply every 2 years. Names like Roof-A-This cide etc. Not wanting to name any specific one. Read the ARMA warning below. http://www.asphaltroofing.org/coating-asphalt-shingles-after-installation
  15. Hey Tennessee, Post back your feelings on using it on a roof. How much did it cost you for 5 gallons and what's the name of the store in Orlando?
  16. Well, I did 1 job with a snowplow continuous duty solenoid instead of the factory switch. After 2 hours the solenoid quit working and was blazing hot! I assume I wired it wrongly? Marcus in Texas and Bruce Sullivan bot tried to help me-Marcus made a diagram and Brice made a video and I still did it wrong! I don't get it, I have done 90% of all vehicle repairs myself in my life and over 90% of all pressure washer repairs and building and have had numerous roof cleaning setups I did myself, but I can't seem to get hooking up a solenoid straight in my head! The pump still works, but nothing comes through the solenoid at all. I will get another one - maybe someone can help me and word this setup in a way that I can get through my 68 year old - 9 prescriptions a day - HEAD? :-(

  18. I bought a trailer full of softwashing equipment and chemicals. Yesterday I tried using the Green Wash instead of Gain. Unless this tile roof was a fluke-I was amazed! It showed cleaned in a minute! It makes a quick, white foam show [ AC says this is not sudsing, but activated SH. The foam disappears in a minute and clean roof shows. This was barrel tile-half was not too darkened and half was reasonably blackened with algae. I only used 1 coat on it all and it was perfect! Anyway, after giving AC a hard time at RCIA some years ago [ and not that he didn't deserve at least half of my insults LOL ] I believe in also giving credit where it is due and this stuff looks like a real plus! My body can only - barely - handle 2 days of work a week anymore, so I will report back to this post on how the Green Wash works on other roofs, next week. I'm especially interested in shingled roofs too!
