Per a discussion with our founder Chris Tucker, the requirements for Certification by RCIA standards are being amended as follows:

1. There will NO longer be a requirement to have 100 quality posts on the forums. This will make it easier and faster to become Certified.

2. You will be required to provide proof of insurance and a business license/document showing your business is listed with your home town/state.    These forms  must  be forwarded to garyw@bellsouth.net along with some pictures of work you have completed with your sign/truck in the pics.

3. You must be a Premium member to test for certification and maintain your premium status by paying the annual fee of $129.00.

4. The fee for Certification will remain as a one time fee of $200.00 payable thru Paypal to garyw@bellsouth.net. Your receipt will show payment to RCIA.

5.You will be emailed a test sheet covering some/most topics pertaining to roof cleaning and the sheet must be completed and emailed back to garyw within 24 hours of being sent.

6. After the above steps have been completed You will  be scheduled with Chris Tucker for a 40 question verbal test via a phone call.

7. After your sucessful test with Chris you will be certified and join the elite ranks of "Certified Roof Cleaning Specialist" here at RCIA.

Notify garyw when you desire to apply for certification.   call me.   502-773-1730

Hello,

I am a new member and new to the roof cleaning business as well. I am very interested in becoming certified. I realize there is an emailed test and a verbal test but I have been using the search button and also reading this site to try to find out what more information on what these tests actually cover. Is there some information available that would make learning the answers to the questions possible? Thanks!

To become a certified roof cleaner, you must first become a Premium member. ($129.00 annual fee). Then there is a $200.00 (one time certification fee) payable thru Paypal. You will then be emailed a 50 question test which requires a 80% passing grade. I will then arrange a telephone call with you and Chris Tucker who will then ask you approx. 40 more detailed questions covering a wide range of roof cleaning topics. After successful completion, your title will be changed and your info will be entered into the directory listings for your home state.

I can be reached for info at  502-773-1730

Mike, you pay for Premium membership here http://roofcleaninginstitute.org/store/   Then, once you are a member, call Gary at 502 773 1730 for the rest

How will this benefit my company?

Just another step to separate you from others (in a positive way), being entered into the directory, you will gain knowledge from it, more credibility, etc. etc.  Basically like a college degree in comparison the way I look at it.  That's for the test... As for the premium member aspect, there's years and years and years of key information listed right out in front of you to read and learn, that you'll never find anywhere else, which pays for itself.

same here i like to qualify for a certification.

Since you are already a premium member Bill, you are elegible to take the certification test. Gary in Kentucky administers the written test, and all final testing is verbally done with me.  Call Gary at 502 773 1730 to take the written test. Once you pass the written test, then you call me at 813 407 1097 for the final verbal test. Once you become certified, you will get a diploma and really nice large and small vinyl stickers for your truck, as well as a listing in the certified roof cleaners directory, for your state !

Where can I get the stickers? I remember there was a thread a while ago, but I lost track of it.

Truthfully I really do not care about the diploma, having you (Chris) as an educator is worth more than any piece of paper. Thanks again for offering all of your extremely valuable information! I believe you made roof cleaning what it is today (a valuable service for both contractors and homeowners) but having a few of the stickers would be nice just to show a little pride for the RCIA!
