PeakOfPerfection Report post Posted August 1, 2015 It is a full 3/4" ID hose, it is just not as thick as some of the other 3/4" hoses we've run and is a bit more flexible.
Jim Ordway Report post Posted February 17, 2016 I did finally get to do a house with it myself. It is freaking awesome! Very much lighter than the hose we were using before, smaller diameter but seems tough. Was worried it would be too flexible which would cause problems on the manifoldless reel with twisting but turned out to be a non issue. I upped the length and it doesn't have seemed to have effected the distance on the pump. Highly recommended. Kevin, you still recommending this hose?
PeakOfPerfection Report post Posted February 21, 2016 I had a guy had to go to the hospital we had a leak on a fitting on our roof clean hose he grabed a screw driver torqued down on the metal clamp and the fitting that conected the two hoses i guess was weak it shaterd and blowed up in his face his mouth was open at the time and he got a chemical burn on his lungs not to mention he tasted bleach for several days. If we have a leak no matter how easy it is to just tighten and keep going we take the pressure off first. Some yall may know this this is my first season being dedicated to pressure washing and roof cleaning so were doing more and that was a mistake i learned fromTHIS is why all hose fittings should be professionally crimped. Yes, it costs more, but they are safer and can be pulled on.
PeakOfPerfection Report post Posted February 21, 2016 So we've been using the Flex Tech RT 3/4" hose for a while now and I've been trying to get set up to offer it. But...we've run into a pretty substantial issue. The correct fittings for that hose are crimp on Stainless fittings. With as much head pressure the water column puts on the hose, you do NOT...repeat N O T want to use barbed hose clamp or banded fittings. You can use non stainless fittings which do work with RT, but they will rust out (so will stainless, but not as fast). The issue is that the Stainless fittings are too aggressive for the thinner wall RT. I wish it weren't so, but have been working with the Pres of Flex Tech on this issue and it looks like it is not doable to the point where we feel it will be reliable and safe. Bummer. So, they do make an AG hose and it is supposed to be pretty flexible as AG hoses go. We are now offering it in the 3/4" sizes. Be aware that the proper stainless fill crimp fittings are bloody expensive, but they'll last. Wish somebody made a Hastelloy version you could buy just once. I've been telling guys to buy the Kuriyama because of the hose end problem, but there is an issue there too. I talked to the guys at Kuriyama last week and they have now discontinued importing the 3/4" AG hose. Just not enough demand. And seeing as how the smooth blue Kuriyama hose that another seller is offering is a disaster (I got 4 months out of a 300 ft section before it kinked and split)...looks like your choice in 3/4" spray hose is going to be the Flex Tech AG hose. I will be offering packages with the Manifoldness Hannay Reel and 200 or 300' of the Flex Tech hose. PM me for pricing. 1 Apple Roof Cleaning (813) 655-8777 reacted to this
