We get paid before we show up or at completion of the job normally. All of our estimates and Invoicing are done electronicly via email, we use yard book, it's free. The payment terms are on the invoice and I believe they are stated on the estimate as well. It gives you options for NET 30 thru NET 7 or payment due at completion. We ask for payment at completion of the job. Cash, Check, CC are all good with us.
Yeah, that roofer classification is super expensive. In GA the businesses can have upto 4 employees, I believe, without having to have WC. My problem is that some homeowners here have insurance that require any contractors that work on thier propety to have it. Most of these folks have very nice, very large homes in very nices neighborhoods!
Doug, Sorry to dig up this old thread BUT I see you are in GA....I was wondering if you ever got WC or just continued business without it? I am dealing with this very issue right now. We just recieved this email from an insurance provider and I just cant see how we can afford it....Did you find reasonable WC coverage? "I found out that if you include the roof services, we have to include the roofing class code. This class code is the most expensive Workers Compensation class code. With that code included my quotes are over $50k per year."
Howdy! I've been lurking around here for a little while and have become really excited about this roof cleaning business We are just getting started into lawn care and house washing and trying to figure out if we want to add this service to our current business model or start another business to market just roof cleaning.....anyhow, I would like to say THANK YOU!!!! to all of the good folks that contribute and make this forum what it is.....
