  2. Is there a spot on the site that lists the formula for different types of roofs? What I have gathered is for Painted surfaces, vinyl, aluminum, screen & windows, playgrounds. 1% solution which is for 100 gal use 10 gal SH 64 oz gain- ammonyx Lo 90 water wood deck, light stained shake roof, epoxy deck use 2% solution 20 gal SH 64 oz gain- ammonyx Lo 80 water Med stained shingles, heavy stained wood, heavy stained vinyl 3% Infested roofs, paving, concrete 4% I consider this medium stained or 3% roof. What say ye Does this sound correct? Is there any updated info?
  3. Do you wonder who made those black oily streaks and dark stains on your roof? It could be space aliens or maybe from racoons skidding their bottoms across the roof, tar baby tracks, jet fuel (From alien craft), tree sap, acid rain or really black dirt. Believe it or not, it is caused by Gloeocapsa Magma an algae. As this space mutant algae eats and multiplies, the colonies become larger and more dense. The dense area of the algae colonies are evident by the ugly black poop streaks which algae excrete as a protective sheathing that stain the roof. Along with the stain Gloeocapsa Magma eat the limestone filler in the shingle, they turn nitrogen into ammonia which acts as a fertilizer source for moss, algae and lichens causing them to grow and flourish. This air born algae is more prevalent as you travel west of the Cascade mountains. Besides the damage they do by eating the calcium carbonate, limestone layer, they also promote the colonization and growth of other destructive organisms. The effects of the algae are not only unsightly but very costly if not treated. If your roof is infected by algae, space aliens, or other mutant organisms such as Northwest mega mutant moss or lichen, have the best certified roof cleaner (non-pressure spray system) inspect it as soon as possible. 4. Also what do you think about increasing the size of your air hose? my compressor is 6.5 hr and gets 12 cfm out put. If I go from 3/8 to 1/2 will it boost the head pressure on a 1/2 inch air pump? I'm thinking of running 50 feet so I can wined it through the water tank to cool the air down.
  5. I have been looking for hose and came across this. It is GST II, 5/8 and the inside is EPDM with two ply textile reinforcement. Said it was rated Good for SH. For my first hose do you think this will work alright. I can get it for $1 per foot.
  6. Chris I just joined but don't show up as Prem member yet. I'm just starting out in Salem Oregon and looking forward to having incite from my fellow roof cleaners around the county. You can check out my facebook and website just type in biosoftwash. Any suggestions will be greatly excepted as I move forward. Is there a certification process? Can I use the RCIA logo

  8. Anyone know about the SoftWash Systems Green Wash. They say you can use a lot less SH Example: 100 gal tank would take 20 gal SH / 80 gal H2O / 64 oz Green wash / 100 oz Calcium Hpoclorite Has anyone tried this ? They say it helps reduce plan kill.
  9. Does the HF big one with 18.5 CFM give you enough power for your 1 inch pump? Are you using 1/2 inch hose or 3/4? Where do you get 3/4, I have not seen any.
