Looks like I've figured out a solution to continue use of the pool pump.  I have one bug to work out before I can say it with 100% certainty though.  Once that's done, I'll share the very simplistic set up.
Thanks everyone, for the input and suggestions.

  2. Roof Cleaning Virginia added a post in a topic Time to replace the KURI TEC Kuriyama Spray hose

Hi Dave.  I got 7 years of hard use out of one Kuri-Tec hose, and even then, I replaced it pro-actively as it was getting brittle.  (I mention hard use as roof cleaning is 90% of our business.)    Needless to say, that's all I use.  Good stuff.

Hey fellas, John Bonham with Bonham Roof Cleaning in  Far North Texas. Lots of great advise on here.
More of a reader than a sharer. Chris already saved (made) me 10X my investment on the premium membership with one conversation. REALLY!
My website is really starting to pay off this year.
Glad to be in such great company.

I asked Kevin the same question awhile back, and he said Kuritec is the best, hands down. I personally would like to know what the "runner-up" is though.

Time to replace the KURI TEC Kuriyama Spray hose
    Hey guys,
I have a KURI TEC Kuriyama Spray hose 200' X 1/2" ID  K413112200 and it's time to replace it due to wear and age. I like the hose and it held up quite well. But before I purchase a new one, does any have recommendations? We operate a 12V pump.

Here is the way it works here, if you are a vendor here, and we get complaints that you ignore, or at least try to make right, you get shown the door.

Having after the sale support from your suppliers is very important when your livelihood depends on the products you bought.
I have done business with Miss Lori at PWP, bought AODD pump, hose reel and hoses, and can say she is top notch and only a txt/phone call away.
I am sure Kevin is a great guy to work with as well and they both have a strong presence here at the RCIA.
  12. Apple Roof Cleaning (813) 655-8777 added a post in a topic What do you think of this pump?

No, but it will work, and work well. However, when it breaks, you will not have the advantage of having bought it from a dealer who is familiar with what we do. The 2 vendors I suggested to you can compete or beat this price, plus take care of you when your pump breaks, as well as provide valuable advice.

We are still using air, at least my son is, I am retired!
Still using Gain, when we use a surfactant, and since I left, no more TSP
LOL, they are too lazy to mix it

Just say NO to this pump, for a few dollars more you can get a KYNAR pump from Lori at pressure washer products, or a rebuilt pump from Kevin Enderle from Peak Of Perfection in Bellingham, Washington.

Be careful of low grade poly fittings.  Fiberglass is mixed into the poly to add strength.  It also gives it s shine.  The fiberglass breaks down over time when exposed to SH.
Go for SCH 80 PVC fittings....

I love the honest feedback!!  Thank you so very much for posting!
For those whom want to add a fragrance and don't want to buy a pre-mixed surfactant and fragrance, try out samples first direct from the manufacturer.  Horizon, Chemia, Florachem and Nilum will send you free samples to try.  You can add as much as you need for the job and gain control over your costs.  Fragrance Link to Manufacturers

I have been using Slo Mo for the last few jobs and the stuff is AWESOME! It's crazy concentrated so it only takes a few ounces to do an entire roof. It also seems to clean extremely well and rinses easily.  Try it you'll like it! I will definitely buy it again and nothing else.

That's what true friends do for each other Mr. Bergman :-)
Just wanted him to know that there are many of us "newbies" out here that really do appreciate the posts from the early days and I have learned a LOT from them :-)
Many folks just wont help the competition or they choose to simply go the "my way is only way" route, as many are now doing.
On this site I learned that there are many ways to skin a cat. Once I was comfortable with the process and equipment we were gonna use we jumped in with both feet and I am so happy that I can PM the man himself with a "newbie" question and he will answer me with honest and straight information.
That is to me invaluable :-)

Older Roof Folks-After all these years and all RCIA has taught many of us
What are you using as a roof mix and equipment?
There have been popular surfactants-I used Ammonyx Lo for years, but had to drive over 100 miles to Tampa to get it.
I tried everything else as it came out and then, as has happened to me many times-even though I have been cleaning roofs with no pressure since sometime in the mid to late 90's [ I'm guessing from some of my pictures I've run into, that were dated, that it's since about 1996 or so?
Anyway, I learned from RCIA that GAIN dish liquid was compatible with SH, so that's what I've used ever since. Shingled roofs 30-35% SH and in my 100 gal mix tank about 44 oz of Gain-period.
On tile, a 45-50% SH mix with 44-88 oz Gain and on very dirty, light colored roofs, about 15lb of TSP per 100 gal mix.
I stuck with the Delavan 5gpm 12 volt delivery system, just because
I'm almost 70 and too old to bother switching to air.
My son is in the same business [ and now that he is largely recuperated from his fall in 2014 ] is working for me again-but mainly just pressure washing, or doing the lower portion of roofs from the ground. I do the rest.
Anyway, he bought a double air delivery system = 2 compressors, 2 air pumps and carries 2 12 volt pumps for backup.
HE LOVES THE AIR SYSTEM! However, they don't come cheap and after less than 2 years is on his 3rd pump and 2nd compressor-and that's about to meet it's maker! LOL
    How about you?
